Join a global financial services company with a strong presence in Japan as an IT Helpdesk Engineer, supporting daily IT operations for the Japan office. You will provide hands-on desktop and user support for approximately 70 internal users, the majority of whom are Japanese speakers, within an English-speaking corporate environment. This role is ideal for a proactive and self-sufficient IT professional who enjoys end-user interaction and wants to build a long-term career in enterprise IT and infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide desktop and end-user IT support for both on-site and remote employees
- Manage user account administration including network IDs, email access, password resets, and login issues
- Troubleshoot software issues related to Windows OS, Microsoft Office, and VMware
- Support hardware and devices including iPhones, iPads, printers, webcams, and video conferencing systems
- Assist with desktop setups, device imaging, office moves, and workstation relocations
- Maintain and manage IT asset inventory
- Support users working across different Windows domain environments
- Log, track, and resolve issues using ticketing systems such as Cherwell and ServiceNow
- Document incidents and communicate major IT events through reports and email updates
- Participate in meetings and conference calls with the Global IT Team
- Provide occasional support outside standard business hours when required
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- Experience in IT helpdesk, technical support, or desktop support roles
- Hands-on knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office products
- Experience supporting corporate IT environments and end users
Soft Skills:
- Strong time management and prioritisation skills
- Excellent problem-solving ability with a proactive mindset
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating within a global team
- Familiarity with Japanese business culture and office environments
Language Requirements:
- English: Intermediate to Business level
- Japanese: Intermediate to Business level (user support focused)

- Experience supporting users in financial services or enterprise environments
- Interest in progressing toward Junior System Administrator or infrastructure roles
