A global leader in the retail and consumer goods industry is seeking a Desktop Support Engineer (Level 2) to support IT operations across boutique store sites and corporate offices in Japan. This role is ideal for professionals who enjoy hands-on troubleshooting, working in a fast-paced retail environment, and driving high-impact projects such as new store openings, renovations, and relocations. You will work closely with both regional teams in Japan and global HQ to ensure smooth and reliable end-user IT services.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide Level 2 IT support by resolving hardware, software, network, and security issues for boutique and office users
- Lead IT setup coordination for boutique openings, renovations, and relocations in partnership with vendors and internal stakeholders
- Manage the full lifecycle of IT assets including procurement, installation, inventory tracking, and disposal
- Monitor service performance to ensure SLA compliance, delivering status updates and driving continuous service improvements
- Maintain documentation including knowledge bases, equipment lists, and user guides for consistent support delivery
- Collaborate with global HQ and regional Japan teams to handle cross-border IT requests and infrastructure-related coordination
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- 3+ years of professional IT support experience (desktop/end-user support)
- Strong knowledge of Windows and Apple operating systems
- Strong knowledge of PC hardware, peripherals, and mobile devices
- Proficiency with MS Office, Outlook, and antivirus software
- Experience with Active Directory administration and LAN/WAN/WiFi troubleshooting
- Experience with MDM/DEP and JAMF
Soft Skills:
- Customer-first mindset with strong service orientation for retail and warehouse users
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Resilience and calm execution under pressure and tight timelines
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills for complex technical issues
Language Requirements:
- Japanese: Fluent (business-level required)
- English: Conversational (nice to have)

- ITIL Foundation certification
- Project Management certification
- Experience supporting retail environments or POS systems
- Experience working in a multinational / international company
