Support the client risk team in assessment of account activity, client onboarding, and ongoing monitoring processes
Perform and review Vulnerable Client Assessment requests independently
Review and assess declared Total Net Worth and Liquid Net Worth through client lifecycle
Conduct risk reviews by applying a strong control mindset and attention to detail in documentation and process execution
Liaise effectively with private bankers, compliance, and other departments to ensure seamless risk-related communication and issue resolution
Analyze data trends and risk indicators to support enhanced decision-making and reporting
Assist in implementing and improving first line of defense procedures to align with regulatory changes and firm policies.
Prepare and review risk reports, escalate issues when appropriate, and follow up on outstanding items to closure
Contribute to training sessions and knowledge sharing within the team on risk controls, regulatory updates, and best practices
Support ad hoc projects and process enhancements as directed by management
Requirements
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in total net worth substantiation, including verification of assets and liabilities, review of supporting documents, and assessment of financial profiles
Understanding and practical experience with vulnerable client assessment, including the identification, documentation, and escalation of potential vulnerabilities, and familiarity with relevant regulatory and ethical guidelines
Fluency in Cantonese, English, and Mandarin
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret and synthesize complex data sets
Hands-on experience with Microsoft Excel and Python (knowledge of data analysis, reporting, and automation techniques) and Copilot
Familiarity with products and services commonly offered to private wealth management clients (e.g., structured products, funds, alternative investments)
Basic knowledge of SFC, HKMA, and MAS regulatory expectations of private banking
Strong communication skills-both verbal and written, with the ability to interact with diverse stakeholders across all levels.
Detail-oriented with a strong control and risk management mindset.
Experience in a first line of defense or similar risk/control function within private wealth management is preferred.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a high-pressure environment.
High level of integrity and commitment to confidentiality and ethical standards.
Adaptability and willingness to learn about new products, systems, and regulatory changes.
Bachelor's degree or above in Finance, Business, Economics, Risk Management, or a related field.
