The Role:
You will oversee the credit control function to ensure efficient cash collection, adherence to credit limits, and compliance with company credit terms. This role is crucial for maintaining the financial health of the organisation and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Credit Control Management:
- Proactively manage the company's credit control for an AR balance of approximately €25/30m.
- Handle new customer setups, including review, validation, and credit insurance applications.
- Manage the ongoing credit insurance process and continuous monitoring of credit limits.
- Supervise AR cash book postings and perform cash book reconciliations.
- Manage sales orders in suspense due to insufficient credit limits and actively manage AR overdue accounts.
- Provide regular updates to relevant stakeholders, including finance, sales, and logistics teams.
- Reporting and Compliance:
- Conduct monthly reporting to company finance and senior management, along with ad-hoc AR reporting as required.
- Validate and reconcile the monthly AR and CB module closes and prepare various month-end reports.
- Lead the AR and CB aspects of the company statutory audit, ensuring timely query resolution and active engagement with the sales team.
- Contract and Agreement Oversight:
- Verify company trading agreements for sign-off by the Director of Finance and ICT.
- Review terms of recurring and new agreements and advise the Finance Team of any changes in rates, details, or new agreements to be incorporated into accruals.
- Manage customer payment terms and discounts.
- Commission and Payment Management:
- Oversee agent sales commissions, including calculation, validation with respective agents, and subsequent submission for payment.
- Financial Planning:
- Prepare the AR forecast and budget draft submissions for the Finance Team, considering current rates and potential rate changes.
- Tax Compliance:
- Prepare and submit VAT, VIES, and Intrastat Dispatches to maintain compliance with Revenue requirements.
Key Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a credit control or similar financial role within a sizable organisation.
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
- Proficient in financial software and Excel.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively with multiple departments.
- In-depth understanding of financial regulations and compliance requirements related to AR and CB.
