A leading global financial technology and media firm is seeking a Policy and Regulatory Affairs Advisor to engage with regulators, monitor policy developments, and provide expert insights across Japan's financial sector. This is an opportunity to represent a highly respected institution and influence regulatory and policy discussions while collaborating with international teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and interpret regulatory developments in Japan's financial sector, with coverage across capital markets, asset management, and fintech.
- Manage direct interactions with regulatory bodies such as the FSA, Bank of Japan, and key ministries, ensuring effective communication on policy issues.
- Draft policy materials, including consultation responses, technical briefings, and regulatory submissions.
- Participate in regulatory roundtables and working groups, providing insights to internal teams.
- Contribute to company-led events and initiatives across APAC, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- Minimum 5+ years working at Japanese financial regulatory authorities or government agencies.
- Strong knowledge of local and global financial regulations, frameworks, and policy trends.
- Proven writing and presentation skills, with experience producing policy materials for senior stakeholders.
Language Requirements
- Japanese: Native-level fluency.
- English: Business-level fluency.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and represent the organization in high-level policy discussions.
- Experience advising on market trends and financial policy issues in a multinational context.
