Roles/Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice on transactional and regulatory projects related to Global Markets business activities in Japan.
- Draft, review, and negotiate legal documentation for various financial transactions.
- Advise on new business, product validations, and related legal/regulatory issues.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external counsel to manage legal risks.
- Monitor regulatory developments impacting the business and communicate updates to the legal team.
- Manage relationships with external law firms for specialized legal support.
- Provide support for litigation or disputes related to the Global Markets business.
Required skills
- Japanese law qualification with 6-10 years of post-qualification experience.
- Proven experience advising on capital markets and structured finance transactions.
- Fluent in both Japanese and English (written and spoken).
Preferred skills
- Familiarity with complex financial transactions and cross-border legal issues.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills with a solution-oriented mindset.
