Roles/Responsibilities
- Oversee insurance workflow process improvement projects by examining back-office workflows, working with users to create effective processes, and keeping them updated to meet changing company requirements.
- Get practical experience handling transactions, administering reinsurance, and discovering areas where processes may be improved.
- To make risk and premium calculations easier, perform business analysis with a focus on reinsurance contracts and data. Load contract information into the primary system.
- Create tools for calculating risk and premiums using PL/SQL or Excel while closely collaborating with the IT team to guarantee precision and effectiveness.
- Examine client data files, use PL/SQL to map pertinent columns to the main system, and make sure data integrity and seamless integration are maintained.
- Provide system support, such as help with User Acceptance Testing (UAT) of the primary system, data extraction, report development, etc.
Required skills
- Business application engineering experience, particularly in financial institutions (insurance companies).
- Strong ability to communicate directly with end users.
- Proficiency in Oracle PL/SQL programming, with experience as a designer, developer, or tester.
- Solid skills and knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Access for data analysis and reporting.
- Ability to analyse and optimize back-office processes through process re-engineering and system enhancements.
- Understanding of risk and premium calculations, including creating calculation sheets and functions.
- Capability in data mapping and integration using PL/SQL to ensure accurate data transfer.
- Fluency in Japanese language (written and spoken), as this role requires effective communication with Japanese-speaking stakeholders.

Preferred skills
- English conversational level or higher.
- Knowledge of tools like Power automate desktop, GitHub, AzureDevOps.
- Insurance knowledge or experience within the industry is very welcome.
