Head of Product - Generative AI & AI Agents Tokyo

A rapidly growing AI technology company in Tokyo is seeking an experienced Head of Product - Generative AI to lead its product strategy, oversee a portfolio of innovative AI solutions, and drive business growth through advanced artificial intelligence technologies.

This executive leadership position offers the opportunity to shape the future of Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), AI Agents, and enterprise AI products, while leading an established Product Management organization.

You will take ownership of the company's long-term product vision, product portfolio strategy, and development roadmaps, ensuring alignment with business objectives, customer requirements, and emerging market opportunities.

Working closely with executive leadership, Engineering, Sales, Customer Success, and Design teams, you will translate customer needs and market insights into innovative, commercially successful AI products.

You will also lead and develop a team of approximately 10-20 Product Managers, strengthening product management processes, improving organizational effectiveness, and fostering a culture of autonomy, accountability, and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and execute the company's long-term product strategy and product vision, aligning product development with business objectives and market opportunities.
• Lead the strategic direction of a portfolio of Generative AI, LLM-powered applications, and AI Agent solutions.
• Oversee multiple AI product lines, establishing priorities, allocating resources, and managing product roadmaps and development initiatives.
• Drive product innovation by identifying new market opportunities, emerging AI technologies, and evolving customer requirements.
• Lead product development for key strategic initiatives, translating customer needs, business objectives, and market insights into clear product requirements.
• Collaborate closely with Engineering and Design teams to define product specifications, prioritize features, and support successful delivery.
• Conduct and leverage market research, competitive analysis, customer feedback, and product performance data to guide product decisions.
• Manage, mentor, and develop a team of approximately 10-20 Product Managers, strengthening individual capabilities and overall team performance.
• Build a high-performing Product Management organization by promoting autonomy, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Establish scalable product development processes, prioritization frameworks, and product management best practices.
• Partner with executive leadership, Sales, Customer Success, and Engineering to align product strategy with commercial priorities.
• Improve customer value, product adoption, product performance, and business outcomes across the AI product portfolio.
• Balance long-term strategic objectives with hands-on product execution and delivery priorities.
• Evaluate product investments and resource allocation to maximize the commercial impact of AI solutions.
• Support the company's growth by developing innovative enterprise AI products and AI-driven business solutions.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Experience:

• 10+ years of professional Product Management experience, including responsibility for product strategy from planning through execution.
• Proven experience defining and executing product vision, product strategy, and product roadmaps.
• Demonstrated success leading product direction through market research, competitive analysis, customer insights, and data-driven decision-making.
• Experience developing detailed product requirements, functional specifications, and feature priorities in collaboration with Engineering teams.
• Previous people management experience leading a team of at least 10 members.
• Strong understanding of product development processes, product lifecycle management, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Experience aligning product priorities with business strategy, customer requirements, and commercial objectives.
• Ability to oversee multiple product initiatives while balancing strategic priorities, resources, and execution.
• Bachelor's degree.
