A new opportunity for a senior banking compliance officer to join a smaller financial institution that is developing its banking business in Japan.
Roles/Responsibilities
- Offer daily compliance guidance and support to executives and employees, fostering a culture of compliance throughout.
- Conduct and document compliance training sessions.
- Stay updated with regulatory changes by monitoring regulatory authorities' websites, updating internal policies as needed, and providing necessary training.
- Prepare and submit regulatory filings to financial authorities.
- Collaborate with APAC Compliance teams on various group-wide projects such as outsourcing remediation, regulatory reporting tool development, and data privacy.
- Support regulatory inspection preparations and remedial actions for findings.
- Address AML/CFT inquiries from business and Client Service Groups to ensure compliance with Japanese regulations, in coordination with APAC Financial Crime Compliance (FCC).
- Collaborate with APAC FCC on AML/CFT-related requests and projects from the Group.
- This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, engaging with various aspects of compliance and regulatory matters while contributing to the overall compliance culture within the organization.
Required skills
- Proficient in both Japanese and English, with strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong background in banking compliance in Japan.
