A leading global investment bank is seeking a Business Risk Control Associate to join its Tokyo-based 1st Line Risk and Control team. In this dynamic and high-impact role, you will help shape and enhance the risk and control environment across trading, sales, and business operations. Key Responsibilities
Support front office teams in identifying, assessing, and mitigating operational and conduct risks
Coordinate implementation and monitoring of control frameworks aligned with internal policies and regulatory standards
Facilitate RCSA (Risk and Control Self-Assessments) and conduct periodic risk reviews
Liaise with 2nd and 3rd line functions including Compliance, Operational Risk, and Internal Audit
Track and report on KRIs (Key Risk Indicators), control issues, and audit findings
Contribute to control testing, incident reviews, and remediation planning
Promote a strong risk culture through internal training and cross-functional collaboration
3-5 years of experience in risk control, business management, or securities operations
Solid understanding of investment banking products and front office workflows
Familiarity with operational and conduct risk frameworks in financial institutions
Strong reporting, documentation, and risk assessment capabilities
Proficiency in control testing and incident management processes
Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder communication skills
Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, multicultural environment
English: Fluent
Japanese: Intermediate to Business level
Experience working in a global investment bank or financial institution
Knowledge of international regulatory requirements and internal audit processes
