This senior leadership role is responsible for regulatory transaction reporting across Japan and key Asia-Pacific markets, ensuring robust trade reporting compliance while driving transformation across operations, technology, data, and controls.
You will lead a regional team, engage directly with regulators and industry groups, and partner with Engineering, Legal, Compliance, and Business stakeholders to translate evolving regulatory requirements into effective operational processes. A key focus will be modernising the function through AI, data analytics, low-code automation, and process innovation.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead regulatory transaction reporting operations across Japan and APAC, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant reporting across relevant jurisdictions.
- Manage and develop the regional team, prioritising workloads, mentoring professionals, and fostering a high-performing and inclusive culture.
- Act as a trusted point of contact for regulators, industry working groups, senior management, and internal control functions on transaction reporting matters.
- Monitor regulatory developments and translate complex requirements into efficient operational procedures in collaboration with Engineering, Legal, Compliance, and Business teams.
- Drive operational transformation through AI, data analytics, low-code automation, system enhancements, and process redesign.
- Strengthen reporting controls and governance frameworks, identifying risks and implementing effective preventative and detective controls.
- Oversee trade reporting compliance, exception management, issue remediation, and operational risk across multiple asset classes and Asian jurisdictions.
- Use data-driven analysis to identify reporting trends, operational weaknesses, and opportunities to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Take end-to-end ownership of complex regulatory initiatives, ensuring effective execution across regional and global stakeholders.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- 5+ years of financial services experience within regulatory reporting, transaction reporting, compliance, middle office, operational controls, or a closely related function.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory reporting, financial products, trade lifecycle processes, and Markets Operations.
- Proven experience managing teams, prioritising complex workloads, and taking end-to-end ownership of major initiatives.
- Experience working with operational controls, regulatory requirements, issue remediation, and risk management.
- Familiarity with data-driven problem solving and using technology to improve financial services operations.
- Experience collaborating across functions such as Engineering, Technology, Legal, Compliance, Operations, and Business teams.
- Ability to operate effectively across multiple jurisdictions and complex regulatory environments.

- Experience leading APAC regulatory reporting or transaction reporting within an investment bank, securities firm, or global financial institution.
- Knowledge of transaction and trade reporting requirements across Japan and other major Asian financial markets.
- Experience supporting regulatory engagements, examinations, or industry working groups.
- Exposure to reporting across multiple asset classes and complex Markets businesses.
- Experience delivering automation, data analytics, AI, or low-code transformation initiatives within financial services operations.
- Knowledge of modern reporting controls, data governance, exception management, and operational risk frameworks.
- Experience leading cross-functional transformation initiatives involving Operations, Engineering, Legal, Compliance, and front-office stakeholders.
