We are seeking an experienced technology leader to take overall responsibility for Cloud, Infrastructure, Platform Engineering and Technology Operations within a large, complex enterprise environment.
This is a senior enterprise technology leadership position with responsibility for leading a large technology organisation and managing a sizeable technology budget. The role will shape the organisation's infrastructure and cloud strategy while ensuring highly resilient, secure, scalable and cost-effective technology services.
The successful candidate will combine strategic leadership with strong technology depth, with the ability to modernise infrastructure, drive cloud adoption, build high-performing engineering organisations and deliver operational excellence at scale.
Key Responsibilities
Technology Strategy & Leadership
Define and execute the enterprise Cloud & Infrastructure strategy aligned to business and technology objectives.
Lead a large-scale organisation spanning engineering, infrastructure and technology operations.
Establish the target operating model, organisational capabilities and talent strategy required to support future technology needs.
Manage a sizeable technology budget, driving investment discipline, cost optimisation and value realisation.
Cloud & Platform Engineering
Lead enterprise cloud strategy across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
Drive adoption of cloud-native platforms, reusable architecture patterns and standardised landing zones.
Establish strong Platform Engineering, SRE and DevSecOps capabilities.
Promote Infrastructure-as-Code, automation, GitOps and policy-as-code to improve scalability, consistency and operational efficiency.
Develop AIOps, observability and automation capabilities to enhance service reliability and operational intelligence.
Infrastructure & Technology Operations
Provide end-to-end leadership of enterprise infrastructure, including data centres, networks, compute, storage, cloud platforms and core technology services.
Ensure highly resilient, scalable and secure infrastructure supporting mission-critical business operations.
Establish strong IT Service Management disciplines covering incident, problem, change and service management.
Drive service reliability through clear SLOs, performance metrics and continuous improvement.
Resilience, Risk & Governance
Own infrastructure resilience, disaster recovery and business continuity capabilities.
Ensure technology platforms meet regulatory, security and risk requirements.
Partner closely with Cybersecurity, Technology Risk, Architecture and business stakeholders to maintain a robust technology control environment.
Lead major incident management and operational resilience initiatives.
Commercial & Vendor Management
Manage strategic technology vendors, managed service providers and infrastructure partners.
Drive commercial optimisation across cloud consumption, infrastructure, licensing and outsourced services.
Establish effective FinOps practices and ensure technology investments deliver measurable business value.
What We Are Looking For:
We are looking for a Senior Technology Executive. You should bring:
Significant experience leading large-scale Cloud, Infrastructure and Technology Operations functions.
Proven experience managing large technology teams, ideally in a complex regional or global environment.
Experience managing sizeable technology budgets and strategic commercial/vendor relationships.
Deep experience across hybrid/multi-cloud, data centres, infrastructure and enterprise platforms.
Strong understanding of Platform Engineering, SRE, DevSecOps, IaC, automation and observability.
Demonstrated track record of leading large-scale technology transformation and modernisation.
Strong knowledge of ITSM, operational resilience, DR/BCP and technology risk.
Experience operating in a highly regulated or mission-critical environment, preferably financial services.
Strong executive presence and the ability to influence senior business and technology stakeholders.
A track record of building high-performing teams, developing leaders and driving organisational change.
