Senior RF/ Radio Systems Engineer - Hardware Systems
Overview
We are looking for a Senior RF / Radio Systems Engineer to join a fast‑growing hardware development team focused on complex electronic systems for mission‑critical applications. This role is at the systems level: you will design, simulate, characterize, and validate RF and radio architectures, from concept through to lab‑based verification and documentation. You will work in a highly technical, collaborative environment where reliability, robustness, and clear technical communication are central.
Core Responsibilities
- Conceive, design, simulate, and analyze high‑reliability RF / radio communication and sensing systems, including RF front‑end, EPC, control electronics, packaging, thermal, reliability (FMEA / worst‑case), and EMI/EMC aspects.
- Perform hands‑on laboratory characterization and testing, including test setup, measurement, data analysis, and troubleshooting of RF / radio hardware.
- Lead the development and maintenance of technical documentation: development plans, risk management, test plans, and comprehensive test reports.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams to ensure smooth transformation of design into hardware with minimum iterations.
- Serve as a technical point of contact during internal and external design reviews, compliance evaluations, and customer / partner technical discussions.
- Apply and interpret relevant industry standards and reliability practices in design, verification, and documentation (e.g., MIL‑style, high‑reliability product standards).
Qualifications
- Senior RF / Radio Systems Engineer with at least 7 years of relevant work experience in RF / radio systems design, simulation, and testing.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a closely related field; advanced degree (e.g., Master's or PhD) is a strong plus.
- Extensive experience in RF systems architecture, including RF, power conditioning, control electronics, and combined RF / EPC / thermal considerations.
- Hands‑on experience with laboratory testing and characterization of RF / radio hardware using tools such as spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, signal generators, power meters, and E‑field / current probes.
- Strong familiarity with simulation and modeling tools, such as HFSS, ADS, MATLAB, SystemVue, SPICE, or equivalent, for RF / radio system analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare and manage technical documentation, development plans, test plans, and test reports for complex electronic systems.
- Prior exposure to high‑reliability, regulated, or mission‑critical hardware environments (e.g., safety‑critical, long‑life, or industrial‑grade systems).
- Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and team‑working skills, with ability to mentor junior engineers.
What we offer:
- Base Salary: $130k-$160k
- Performance Bonus
- Healthcare Benefits
- Flexible Work Arrangement
