Role Overview
This is an entry-level Personal Tax Assistant position, ideal for graduates or candidates who have completed a placement year and are looking to build a career in tax. You'll support the tax team in handling personal tax compliance work while developing technical skills through structured training and hands-on experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with preparing and submitting self-assessment tax returns.
- Respond to basic client queries in a timely and professional manner.
- Collect and organise client information and documentation.
- Support senior team members with personal tax compliance tasks.
- Assist with tax calculations, data entry and digital filing with HMRC.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records.
- Participate in training sessions and ongoing professional development.
- Develop understanding of UK personal tax rules and compliance requirements.
- Conduct basic tax research and support ad-hoc tasks as needed.
- Collaborate with other departments when necessary.
- Contribute to high standards of accuracy and client service.
- Demonstrate initiative and a willingness to take on increasing responsibility.
- Degree in any discipline or relevant placement-year experience.
