A leading financial services organisation is recruiting for a Group Tax Accountant to join their tax team based in the City. The role will offer broad exposure across corporate tax compliance, advisory and reporting requirements, as well as the completion of VAT and PSA returns. The role would suit a candidate looking to make a first move in-house into a supportive team environment.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage the Corporation Tax calculations for UK, Channel Islands, and Irish entities, including associated projects e.g. R&D and capital allowances.
- Ensure that tax computations and returns are filed with the relevant tax authorities, in the correct format and on a timely basis e.g. Corporation tax and PSA returns.
- Respond to tax related queries from internal or external stakeholders on a timely basis and in a practical/ commercial way e.g. tax advisory to business on a new product or queries from HMRC.
- Provide support to the finance function during reporting periods such as interim and year end including preparation of detailed taxation calculations and statutory reporting forms.
- Provide assistance in other areas of tax as required e.g. VAT.
- Respond to business or HMRC queries on a timely basis.
You will be a working in a corporation tax focused role either within a professional services organisation or another in-house tax team. You will have practical experience of working on tax computations and a pro-active attitude. Experience within the financial services sector is not essential. An appropriate qualification ACA/ACCA/CTA or equivalent is preferred, but part-qualified candidates could be considered if they have sufficient practical experience.
