The Role:
The Data Platform Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the company's data warehouse and analytics architecture to meet both current and future business analysis and reporting needs. This role is crucial in ensuring that data is prepared and made available in a safe, secure, and efficient manner for various purposes, including reporting, analytics, and applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain ETL processes using Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, and Azure Databricks.
- Optimize the data warehouse infrastructure and ensure data is verified, quality-checked, and accessible for business needs.
- Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to develop and utilize the data warehouse architecture.
- Perform database performance analysis, monitoring, and tuning, and contribute to the design and extension of data marts, metadata, and data models.
- Automate tasks, deploy production-standard code, and identify opportunities for system optimization.
- Provide support on troubleshooting and access management for stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in data warehouse architecture development and management.
- Proficiency in Azure technologies, including Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, and Azure Databricks.
- Strong knowledge of SQL, Python, Spark (Python or SQL), and dimensional modeling techniques.
- Excellent analytical, consultative, and communication skills, with the ability to engage with both technical and business stakeholders.
- Experience in performance tuning, optimization, governance, and security of data platforms.
