Position: Security Engineer
Role Overview: As a Security Engineer, you will play a crucial role in updating policies and risks, identifying and addressing vulnerabilities, and engaging in proactive security testing. This position is ideal for someone with 1-2 years of experience in cybersecurity, particularly in penetration testing or incident response, and a strong technical background.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct penetration tests and ethical hacking activities.
- Identify and analyze vulnerabilities in systems, networks, and applications.
- Develop and implement security measures to protect systems and data.
- Participate in incident response, providing technical solutions and mitigating threats.
- Engage in proactive security testing, including phishing simulations and vulnerability assessments.
- Stay updated with the latest security trends, tools, and practices.
Potential for Growth:
- Opportunity to progress towards leading an internal Security Operations Centre (SOC) team.
Required Skills and Experience:
- 1-2 years of experience in cybersecurity, particularly in penetration testing or incident response.
- Strong understanding of operating systems, network protocols, and cybersecurity principles.
- Hands-on experience with vulnerability assessment tools and techniques.
- Basic knowledge of compliance and regulatory frameworks with a focus on practical application.
- Eagerness to learn and stay updated with new security threats and solutions.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative in identifying and addressing security issues.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Certifications such as CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker), OSCP (Offensive Security Certified Professional), or similar.
- Experience in scripting or programming for automation of tasks and vulnerability exploitation.
- Familiarity with security tools such as Metasploit, Burp Suite, Nmap, Wireshark, etc.
