Long term contract opportunity for a Senior Electrical Engineer with a leading Medical Device Company in Limerick. This is a Senior position and requires strong technical ability alongside a track record in leading on all electrical aspects of the design and commissioning of automated machinery. This is a 12 month initial contract with an onsite presence required.
- Role overview:
- Develop, test, and install Electrical and safety control system as part of a highly automated, high volume 24/7 validated production environment.
- Work within a multi-functional multidisciplinary team environment.
- Participates within project teams, provide technical support, and make informed decisions on Electrical and control system hardware and architecture selection
- Fault-find complex automation equipment and safety control systems
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of code to Medical Device standards.
- Carry out functional safety and electrical safety assessments on safety control circuits.
- Manage introduction of new site electrical requirements document with vendors.
- Inspect new and existing vendor electrical equipment for compliance with JJV Electrical requirements.
- Update site electrical standards to reflect new external standards and new types of equipment.
- Monitor introduction of site electrical power up plan and deal with any queries.
- Maintain electrical drawing software network licensing systems.
- Experience and skills required:
- Third Level Degree in Electrical Engineering (Level 8)
- Ideally 4-6+ years' demonstrated experience in project execution and design delivery
- Previous experience delivering on new or modified equipment in a large scale manufacturing environment will be an advantage
- Experience with LV Distribution and MCC design, 24V Controls and Automation design, drawing software packages and Cable design
- Knowledge of applicable electrical engineering codes, standards and current industry best practices
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
- Self-motivated with a drive for continuous improvement
