This role will support the site on their Quality Assurance and Regulatory affairs agenda and will embrace leading and supporting a small quality team
The successful candidate will have excellent experience in a similar role within the Food industry, extensive knowledge of food safety systems and will be a motivated team player.
A bit more about the role:
- Design, implement and take responsibility for quality procedures and promote continuous improvement.
- Conduct daily checks across the site to verify compliance.
- Plan and conduct internal and supplier audits.
- Stay abreast of Customer policies and requirements and report upon matters likely to impact upon existing practices.
- Participate in Supplier review meetings and maintain a performance rating for each Supplier.
- Co-ordinate and handle customer complaints.
- Co-ordinate the annual calibration of all test and measuring devices.
- Manage the sampling and analysis laboratory programme and practices.
- Work with and co-ordinate with all other quality and regulatory staff to share information and update.
- Ensure compliance with regulations set by various industry authorities
- Maintain familiarity with company product ranges.
- Keep up to date with changes in regulatory legislation and guidelines.
- Liaise and negotiate with regulatory authorities.
- Ensure that regulatory obligations are met, and submissions meet strict deadlines.
- Prepare and maintain documentation.
- Be the contact person in regard to audits and inspections, manage the interactions during the audit and ensure follow-ups are completed.
Essential Requirements
- 3rd Level degree in Food Science/Quality/Food technology or related
- 4+ years' experience in a similar role within the Food Industry
- Prior leadership experience
- Knowledge of quality standards and regulations (e.g. ISO9001, GMP, BRC, HACCP)
- Internal & supplier auditing experience
- Strong IT skills
- A motivated team player with excellent communication skills
This role is initially to support the site on a fixed term basis (12 months) but there will be alternative opportunities on offer to this individual at the end of this period of time as the business is going through a strong growth period.
