Are you an experienced Automation Engineer looking to play a critical role in one of Ireland's premier greenfield biopharmaceutical expansions?
We are seeking a high-caliber Automation / Systems Engineer to support the delivery of major capital projects for a cutting-edge biomanufacturing facility in Kerry.
With the physical plant construction already complete and the primary team in place, this role focuses on the rapid, copy-and-paste implementation of a high-speed filling line, compounding rooms, and clean utility systems.
This site is scaling up rapidly to manufacture next-generation niche biologics. This offers multi-year project security running through 2030.
Key Responsibilities
- OT & Automation Leadership: Lead lifecycle automation activities across aseptic filling, compounding, and clean utility project streams.
- Vendor & Integration Management: Coordinate automation vendors, system integrators, and cross-functional teams from design review through to startup.
- Lifecycle Compliance: Review and approve core documentation including URS, FDS, SDS, FAT, SAT, IQ, OQ, and CQV deliverables within a GxP framework.
- System Integration: Oversee the integration of PLC, SCADA, DCS, MES, data historians, and industrial OT networks.
- Commissioning & Qualification: Provide hands-on technical oversight during FAT/SAT, OQ completion (targeted for end of 2026), and PQ batches leading into commercial production.
Essential Criteria
- Proven track record delivering automation projects within a Pharmaceutical or Biopharmaceutical GxP manufacturing facility.
- Strong technical background in PLC, SCADA, DCS, OT networking, and system architectures (ISA-88 / ISA-95).
- Demonstrated experience with CQV (Commissioning, Qualification, and Validation) and Computer System Validation (CSV).
- Experience managing equipment vendors and third-party integrators.
- Aseptic filling line or clean utility experience is highly advantageous.
