Legal Counsel (family office)

Our client is an established single family office in Hong Kong.

Responsibilities:

• Provide timely legal advice to key business partners in the asset management sector, ensuring compliance with statutory laws and regulations.
• Draft and negotiate various legal documents, including investment management agreements and confidentiality agreements, while advising colleagues on their legal implications.
• Liaise with internal teams and external professionals (lawyers, bankers, etc.) to facilitate legal processes and transactions.
• Stay updated on legal trends and changes in policies, informing the corporation of relevant updates.
• Take on internal legal compliance audits, ensuring recommendations are implemented effectively.
• Represent the corporation in negotiations, disputes, and other legal proceedings as required, along with handling ad-hoc legal tasks.

Requirements:

• Qualified lawyer with at least 3 years of relevant experience in law firms/ fund managers/ family offices.
• Ability to give practical, well-reasoned and well-researched written legal advice.
• Global transactional exposure is a plus.
• Fluent in both English and Chinese (Mandarin).
• Willing to travel globally.
