A leading UK accountancy and advisory firm is recruiting a VAT Assistant Director for their Manchester office.
This senior role offers the opportunity to lead a varied and high-profile portfolio of clients across multiple sectors, with particular focus on Real Estate, Financial Services, and Technology & Media. You will provide strategic VAT advice, manage complex compliance projects, and build trusted relationships with clients and stakeholders.
Role:

Managing a portfolio of VAT clients, providing expert advice on compliance, planning, and transactional matters.

Reviewing work prepared by junior team members and providing technical guidance and mentorship.

Liaising with HMRC and ensuring all assignments are completed accurately and on time.

Identifying business development opportunities and supporting the growth of the VAT practice.

Working closely with partners and directors on complex projects and strategic initiatives.
Experience:

Strong UK VAT experience is essential, ideally gained within a large or mid-tier firm.

Proven ability to manage multiple client engagements and senior stakeholder relationships.

Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to mentor and develop junior staff.

Commercially minded with a proactive approach to identifying and delivering opportunities for clients.

CTA qualified or equivalent preferred.
