About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist for a 1-year fixed-term contract based in South Galway.
This role offers a hybrid working schedule, giving you the flexibility to balance remote work with collaborative onsite days in South Galway. You will oversee end-to-end processing across weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly payrolls, ensuring total numerical accuracy, strict statutory compliance with Revenue guidelines, and seamless operational execution.
Key Responsibilities
- End-to-End Processing: Manage the full payroll life cycle accurately and within strict deadlines.
- Compliance & Statutory Filings: Ensure full compliance with Irish tax legislation, handling Revenue Online Service (ROS) filings, PAYE, PRSI, USC, LPT, and benefit-in-kind (BIK) calculations.
- System & Data Management: Maintain employee payroll records, time & attendance inputs, and leave tracking.
- Query Resolution: Serve as the main point of contact to resolve employee payroll, tax, and deductions queries promptly.
- Reporting & Auditing: Perform regular reconciliations, generate month-end/year-end reporting, and support internal and external audits.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with HR, Finance, and Management teams to align payroll processing with organizational policies.
Requirements
- Qualifications: IPASS certification required (Certified Payroll Technician / IPASS qualification).
- Experience: Minimum 2-4+ years of hands-on, end-to-end payroll processing experience in Ireland.
- Software Skills: Proficiency with mainstream payroll systems (e.g., Megapay, Sage MicroPay, Core HR) and advanced working knowledge of MS Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables).
- Tax Knowledge: Solid understanding of Irish statutory legislation, tax structures, and Revenue updates.
- Work Pattern: Ability to work a hybrid schedule with on-site presence in South Galway.
- Key Attributes: High attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and strong interpersonal communication skills.
