    Are you an experienced security professional with a passion for art, culture, and public engagement?
    Our client is seeking Museum Security Officers (MSOs) to join their Operations Department on a temporary basis.

    This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a world-class cultural environment while ensuring the safety and security of the Gallery's visitors, staff, and collections.

    The Role

    As a Museum Security Officer, you will provide a visible and reassuring presence throughout the Gallery's public spaces and exhibition areas. You'll play a key role in maintaining security, responding to incidents, and contributing to a welcoming and positive visitor experience.

    Reporting to the Security Supervisor (or nominated deputy), your key responsibilities will include:

    • Providing front-of-house security and surveillance across the Gallery

    • Monitoring and reporting any security, safety, or fire incidents, and completing relevant documentation

    • Assisting with investigations relating to loss or damage

    • Supporting the implementation of the Gallery's Security and Safety Management Plan

    • Offering helpful and courteous information to visitors about exhibitions, events, and facilities

    • Adhering to all Gallery policies, procedures, and instructions

    • Carrying out other duties as required by the Security Supervisor

    About You

    The ideal candidate will bring a blend of professionalism, vigilance, and a genuine commitment to excellent visitor service.

    Essential Experience & Skills:

    • At least 1 year's experience in a customer service, front-of-house, or security role

    • Experience using security, safety, and fire equipment

    • Basic IT proficiency (Microsoft Office)

    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

    • Ability to remain calm and exercise sound judgment in emergency situations

    • A proactive and flexible approach, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team

    Desirable:

    • Relevant qualification in Security or related field

    • Experience in museums, galleries, or cultural institutions

    • Ability to speak additional languages

    • Commitment to ongoing professional training and development
