Job Description
- Morgan McKinley are recruiting for a Project Automation Engineer to join one of our key clients project teams on a contract basis to support a high-priority project that is crucial to the company's operations.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for debugging, commissioning & qualification of a new piece of equipment to ensure smooth approval into production. This role is time-sensitive and requires a professional with a strong background in automation engineering, particularly within the medical device or pharmaceutical sector.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Equipment Debugging and Validation:
- Lead the debugging process for the new piece of equipment, identifying and resolving any technical issues to ensure optimal functionality.
- Conduct comprehensive validation activities, including equipment qualification (IQ, OQ, PQ) and process validation to meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Commissioning and Production Approval:
- Oversee the commissioning of the equipment, ensuring it is fully operational and integrated into the production environment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Quality, Manufacturing, and R&D, to secure approval for the equipment to be used in production.
- Project Management:
- Manage the project timeline, ensuring all milestones are met in a timely manner.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status, risks, and mitigation plans.
- Technical Support and Troubleshooting:
- Provide ongoing technical support during the commissioning phase, troubleshooting any issues that arise to minimize downtime.
- Work closely with equipment vendors and contractors to ensure all technical specifications and performance criteria are met.
- Skills, Attributes & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Automation, Electrical, Mechanical, or related field).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in automation engineering, with a focus on equipment validation and commissioning in the medical device or pharmaceutical industry.
- Proven experience in leading and executing equipment validation projects, including IQ, OQ, and PQ.
- Strong knowledge of automation systems, including PLCs, SCADA, HMI, and robotics.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex equipment issues.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to lead a project from concept to completion under tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards for medical device manufacturing.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
