Morgan McKinley is currently seeking a Maintenance Technician to join a dynamic team in the food industry. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation, maintenance, and repair of plant machinery at one of our production sites. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled professional to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Installation, maintenance, and repair of plant machinery including Form/Fill/Seal, Canning & Packaging machinery, and related utilities such as steam generation, compressors, and safety systems.
- Diagnose and repair malfunctioning equipment using manuals, schematics, and procedures while adhering to safety standards.
- Perform planned and unplanned maintenance tasks, ensuring machinery operates at peak efficiency.
- Conduct mechanical work in compliance with safety regulations.
- Perform machine changeovers, lubrication, and routine maintenance.
- Collaborate with shift personnel for smooth workload transition and operational efficiency.
- Work closely with production and engineering management to address performance issues.
- Liaise with external vendors for spare parts and technical support when necessary.
- Adhere to all company policies related to hygiene, safety, and protective equipment.
- Complete and maintain all necessary documentation (safety, hygiene, quality checks, etc.) promptly and accurately.
- Implement a "clean as you go" approach across the site.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Minimum of 2 years' experience as a qualified Maintenance Electrician or Fitter in a manufacturing environment is preferred
- Fully qualified with a FETAC Advanced Certificate Level 6 - National Craft Certificate).
- Flexibility to work various shifts and days.
- Experience in the Food Industry or Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) Manufacturing is preferred.
This role will require flexibility as it involves work across different areas of the site, including the packaging, warehousing, and service areas.
