    About the job

    Morgan McKinley is partnering with a leading global logistics organisation to appoint a General Manager - Warehouse & Logistics to lead its Dublin operation.

    This is a senior leadership position with overall responsibility for the performance, development and strategic direction of a significant multi-site logistics operation encompassing warehousing, European road freight and 3PL activities.

    Reporting directly to the Managing Director - Ireland, the successful candidate will form a key part of the senior leadership team and will have accountability across operational performance, people leadership, customer service, financial performance, compliance and continuous improvement.

    The role represents an excellent opportunity for an experienced logistics leader to take ownership of a complex operation within a global organisation, with significant scope to drive operational excellence, improve profitability and support future business growth.

    The Role

    The General Manager - Warehouse & Logistics will provide strategic and operational leadership across the Dublin operation, ensuring the business delivers against its commercial, financial, service and operational objectives.

    The successful candidate will lead an experienced, cross-functional team and will be responsible for creating a high-performance culture focused on safety, service, efficiency, customer satisfaction and continuous improvement.

    Key priorities will include:

    • Leading the overall warehouse and logistics operation across the Dublin sites.
    • Developing and executing the operational strategy and business plan.
    • Driving productivity, efficiency and profitability.
    • Ensuring consistently high standards of customer service and operational delivery.
    • Leading continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives.
    • Developing and motivating a high-performing operational team.
    • Building strong relationships with customers, commercial teams, network partners and senior stakeholders.
    • Ensuring the operation maintains the required standards of health, safety, quality and regulatory compliance.
    • Identifying opportunities for growth, optimisation and improved financial performance.

    Key Responsibilities

    Operational Leadership

    • Provide overall leadership for the Dublin warehouse and logistics operation.
    • Develop and implement the operational strategy in line with the wider business objectives.
    • Lead the delivery of the operational business plan, ensuring clear objectives, accountability and performance measurement.
    • Drive improvements across productivity, service, quality, cost and operational efficiency.
    • Lead and develop a cross-functional team across operations, warehouse, transport, customer service and HSEQ.
    • Ensure the operation is appropriately structured and resourced to meet current and future customer requirements.
    • Establish a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and high performance.
    • Monitor key operational KPIs and take appropriate action to address performance gaps.
    • Ensure best practice is implemented consistently across all operational areas.

    Financial & Commercial Performance

    • Take ownership of the operational P&L for the Dublin business.
    • Support the annual budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes.
    • Monitor revenue, cost, gross margin and productivity performance against agreed targets.
    • Identify opportunities to improve profitability through operational efficiency and effective resource management.
    • Work closely with the Commercial team to ensure new business opportunities are successfully translated into operational delivery.
    • Support the development of existing customer relationships and identify opportunities for organic growth.
    • Balance customer service requirements with commercial and operational objectives.

    Customer & Stakeholder Management

    • Develop strong relationships with key customers and strategic partners.
    • Ensure operational performance and customer commitments are consistently delivered.
    • Provide regular reporting and analysis on operational performance, risks, opportunities and financial results.
    • Work collaboratively with Commercial, Finance, HR and other business functions to ensure alignment.
    • Act as a senior escalation point for significant operational and customer issues.
    • Build effective relationships across the wider international network.

    Health, Safety & Compliance

    • Maintain a strong safety-first culture across the operation.
    • Ensure the Dublin sites operate in accordance with all relevant Irish and EU health, safety, environmental and regulatory requirements.
    • Ensure appropriate operational risk management processes and controls are in place.
    • Where applicable, maintain oversight of regulated activities and ensure relevant compliance requirements are consistently met.
    • Work closely with HSEQ colleagues and relevant regulatory bodies as required.

    Continuous Improvement

    • Lead a programme of continuous improvement across warehouse and logistics operations.
    • Identify opportunities to improve processes, systems, productivity, service and cost performance.
    • Promote the effective use of technology, ERP/WMS systems and operational data.
    • Establish clear KPIs and performance management processes.
    • Drive operational excellence initiatives that deliver measurable improvements to the business.
    • Encourage innovation and the adoption of best practice across the wider organisation.

    Candidate Profile

    The successful candidate will be an experienced senior logistics or warehouse leader with a strong track record of managing complex operations within a 3PL, logistics, freight, distribution or supply chain environment.

    You will combine strong commercial awareness with excellent operational leadership skills and will be comfortable managing both strategic priorities and day-to-day operational performance.

    Key Experience & Competencies

    • Significant experience within an international logistics, warehousing, 3PL, freight or supply chain environment.
    • Proven experience in a senior operational or general management position.
    • Strong background in warehouse and logistics operations, ideally within a multi-site environment.
    • Experience managing large or multi-disciplinary operational teams.
    • Demonstrable track record of delivering operational, financial and customer service targets.
    • Strong understanding of P&L management, budgeting and financial performance.
    • Proven ability to drive productivity, efficiency and continuous improvement.
    • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to identify opportunities for growth and improved profitability.
    • Excellent people leadership, coaching and stakeholder management skills.
    • Strong understanding of operational KPIs, ERP/WMS systems and performance management.
    • Ability to analyse operational data and translate insights into practical actions.
    • Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to engage at both operational and senior leadership level.
    • A structured, analytical and results-driven approach.
    • Experience within a regulated logistics environment would be advantageous.

    Qualifications & Experience

    • Graduate-level education or equivalent professional/industry experience.
    • Extensive experience within the logistics, warehousing, transport or supply chain sector.
    • Previous experience in a senior operational leadership or General Management position.
    • Proven track record of delivering against operational and financial objectives.
    • Strong knowledge of warehouse and logistics best practices.
    • Experience with ERP/WMS platforms, KPI management and operational reporting.
    • Knowledge of relevant health, safety and regulatory requirements.
