    Data Engineer / Python Developer - Contract (12 Months)
    Location: Dublin (Hybrid)

    We are working with a leading global data and analytics organisation in the insurance risk sector who are looking for a Data Engineer / Python Developer to join their analytics team on a 12-month contract.

    This role sits within a highly collaborative data science and analytics team responsible for building and enhancing data-driven products used across the insurance lifecycle, including pricing, underwriting, and fraud detection. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing data pipelines, processing large datasets, and supporting the delivery of new analytics products.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Design, build and maintain data pipelines and ETL processes using Python

    • Process, clean and transform large and complex datasets from multiple sources

    • Work closely with data scientists, engineers and product teams to support analytics product development

    • Ensure data quality, integrity and consistency across analytical workflows

    • Contribute to writing clean, maintainable and well-tested code

    • Support internal analytics processes and continuously improve data workflows

    • Communicate analytical outputs and technical progress to stakeholders where required

    Required Skills & Experience

    • Strong hands-on experience with Python for data processing and automation

    • Strong SQL skills and experience querying large datasets

    • Experience building or supporting data pipelines / ETL workflows

    • Experience working with structured and unstructured data formats

    • Familiarity with Git-based version control and coding best practices

    • Strong attention to detail and ability to work across multiple projects in a collaborative environment

    Nice to Have

    • Experience with cloud-based data platforms (Azure preferred)

    • Exposure to large-scale data processing tools such as Databricks or Spark

    • Experience working with insurance or financial services data

    • Familiarity with data visualisation tools such as Power BI
