Procurement Category Manager
A permanent opportunity has opened for a Procurement Category Manager within a procurement team in Ireland, reporting to the Country Procurement Director.
Position Overview
This role is responsible for executing category strategies for various organisations within the company. The manager will identify opportunities for cost savings, cost avoidance, and service improvements, while guiding the local team in procurement efforts. Strong relationships will be built with both internal customers and external suppliers to ensure the effective implementation of procurement initiatives and processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute category strategies that deliver value and align with business needs from initiation to contract completion.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and suppliers to implement procurement procedures.
- Align with senior management on strategies and key procurement decisions.
- Provide regular reports and KPIs demonstrating performance and continuous improvement.
- Lead the development of annual and long-term category strategy plans.
- Drive sustainability initiatives in line with business objectives.

- Strong procurement experience with sound business understanding.

Experience and Qualifications
- 5+ years of procurement experience
- Degree in Business, Technical, or relevant experience
- Expereince in any of the following categories - packaging, chemicals, raw materials, fleet or telecommunications.
- Experience with procurement systems, preferably Ariba
- Experience in leading or supporting negotiations
- Project management experience is a plus
