Procurement Category Manager
Location: Dubllin, Hybrid
Reports To: Head of Procurement
Job Purpose
The Procurement Category Manager is responsible for managing and overseeing asigned categories within a global supply chain. This role involves strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, stakeholder engagement, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance value and innovation within the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Category Strategy: Develop and maintain a forward-looking Category Strategy aligned with overall procurement and business objectives.
- Supplier Management: Establish and nurture strong relationships with key suppliers, driving performance, innovation, and long-term value.
- Strategic Sourcing: Lead sourcing initiatives, including RFIs, RFPs, and e-Auctions, negotiating optimal contracts to achieve cost savings and quality.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, ensuring compliance with procurement policies and continuity plans.
- Continuous Improvement: Implement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve supplier performance.
- Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, ensuring alignment and support for procurement strategies. Facilitate collaboration across departments to achieve shared goals and resolve conflicts as they arise.
Qualifications & Experience
- Essential:
- 5+ years of experience as a Procurement Category Manager.
- Expertise in packaging category essential.
- Strong skills in strategic sourcing, supplier management, and negotiations.
- Proven ability to manage stakeholders across all organisational levels.
- Desirable:
- Experience in FMCG, Pharma or Med Device industry is a bonus but not essential.
- Familiarity with e-procurement tools and leading RFIs, RFPs, and e-Auctions.
