Procurement Category Lead
Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Procurement Category Leader responsible for procurement activities across multiple categories including gifting, food and beverage. This dynamic role involves managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and identifying market trends to drive strategic category development. You will be responsible for overseeing supplier selection, cost analysis, and brand partnerships, all while collaborating with senior stakeholders across the organisation. Role Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement category strategies in alignment with internal stakeholders and customer needs.
- Lead sourcing and procurement activities, including supplier selection, negotiations, and contract management.
- Monitor market trends and innovations, attending trade shows and conducting market research.
- Analyse spending data, identify cost-saving opportunities, and provide actionable insights.
- Foster strong supplier relationships through regular communication and business reviews.
- Lead or participate in procurement-related projects, including tenders and product range optimisation.
- Advise internal teams on supplier and product-related topics to enhance procurement and retail operations.
- Contribute to process improvements within the procurement function.
Candidate Requirements:
- A degree in business administration or a related field.
- 5 years of experience in procurement or category management, ideally within retail/food/beverage industries.
- Strong understanding of market trends and innovation drivers.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficient in English (both written and oral)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team with a high level of responsibility.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.
- Flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
