This is both a technical and commercially focused Asset Manager role. Building and maintaining long term enduring relationships with stakeholders and driving the highest standards in Health and Safety are at the core of this position.
It is a visible role offering exposure to the commercial aspects of renewable power and progression opportunities within a growing and dynamic organisation.
Detailed Responsibilities
- Promotion and prioritisation of HSE (Health, Safety and Environmental) topics at assigned assets and across the portfolio.
- Commercial and technical management of the assigned operational assets, with a particular focus on reliability, optimisation, risk mitigation and opportunity realisation.
- Understand the economic and commercial drivers of the assigned assets with a view to maximising investor returns and boosting net asset value.
- Manage all commercial contracts associated with the assigned assets, including external Asset Management Services, PPA/s, O&M, lease agreements and monitor contractor performance on these contracts to maximise value.
- Lead the negotiation of new or extended contracts when required.
- Foster a strong collaborative relationship with an external technical asset management service provider to assist in the day-to-day operations and management of the assigned assets.
- Performance reporting against technical, commercial and HSE KPIs, internally and to key external stakeholders.
- Develop strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, becoming the primary point for key service providers, grid company, lenders, landowners, community groups, elected officials or other stakeholders relevant to the assigned assets.
- Ensure the installation and maintenance of robust, reliable communications infrastructure on all assigned sites with a priority focus on redundancy cyber security resilience.
- Develop an annual operational (OPEX) budget, catering for all known asset risks and opportunities.
- Manage the assigned asset's operational spend within the approved OPEX budget.
- Collaboratively support the internal Investment and Finance Teams, during project acquisition DD (due diligence), project financing, external communications, regulatory reporting, annual auditing and procurement.
- In conjunction with the wider Asset Management team, develop Asset Management systems, process and tools to support efficient reporting, procurement and implementation of IT systems.
- Be an ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) leader, ensuring assets have a positive impact on the staff working onsite and on the surrounding communities.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum Honours degree qualification in Engineering. Strong preference for Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Experience of Project Financing Process and Due Diligence is desirable.
- Proven commercial awareness and experience in the negotiation and/or management of key contracts within the renewables sector
- Minimum 3 years' Asset Management, Operations or Engineering experience, ideally gained from within the energy or utilities sector.
