We are looking for a Project Support Engineer to join an Asset Lifecycle Management team on a contingent basis, contributing to a significant ongoing capital project at a leading pharmaceutical manufacturing site. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious engineer to broaden both their technical and strategic expertise through hands-on involvement across the full lifecycle of a major capital project. The successful candidate will work alongside a multidisciplinary project team and collaborate with wider sustaining engineering functions throughout project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day support for capital project activities, working in close collaboration with the Asset Lifecycle Management team on asset creation, criticality assessments, and the development of equipment maintenance philosophies in accordance with site procedures.
- Support asset lifecycle activities throughout all phases of project execution.
- Create and register assets within relevant systems, and facilitate structured criticality assessment processes.
- Review project documentation and asset data to ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
- Support the upload and validation of asset data into the Maximo CMMS platform.
- Contribute to the development and tracking of project execution KPIs and performance metrics.
Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills
- A minimum Level 8 Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, or Biochemical) is required.
- Experience working within pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical manufacturing environments, particularly within maintenance or engineering functions, is a distinct advantage.
- Prior exposure to project execution or project management within a GMP-regulated manufacturing setting is desirable.
- A background in maintenance management and reliability programmes would be advantageous.
- Familiarity with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), ideally Maximo or a comparable platform.
- Competence in working with engineering documentation and data, including P&IDs, Electrical Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), and data collection templates.
- Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while managing competing priorities and meeting deadlines.
