Summary of Responsibilities:
- A member of the Quality & Lean Integration group, reporting to the Test Engineering Supervisor.
- Implement and maintain Custom Test Solutions for Circuit Cards and system level motor controllers in the PCB board shop and System manufacturing area within production.
- Drive continuous improvement through applying Lean tools to remove waste from test processes, reducing cost and increasing throughput by minimising downtime.
Summary of activities:
- Support of test solution design. Order parts for new equipment and support the build to deliver new test processes and solutions to schedule and budget.
- Contribute to improving custom test solutions and processes.
- Monitor and maintain existing production test equipment, respond to downtime calls with urgency to minimise interruption to production. Identify and order replacement parts as needed.
- Implement Correct and Preventative Actions to predict and avoid test downtime
- Work with production test technicians and Test Engineers to improve the reliability and effectiveness of test solutions to meet program needs.
- Work with External Contractors as required.
- Improve test procedures and processes and support personnel training to ensure on-site test is effective.
- Support DFT and work with the wider Engineering Group through the product design cycle to verify and validate solutions.
- Support sister sites with implementing test solutions.
The Ideal Candidate:
At least 3 years' experience in developing or supporting test solutions in an electronics
environment.
Essential skills/experience
- The role requires an Electronics qualification or other related engineering discipline with associated experience described above.
- An in depth understanding of electronic circuit functionality and components is required.
- Systems experience, including software, digital/analogue and power electronics.
- Experience in LabVIEW is an advantage.
Experience in the following is an advantage:
- VisualBasic
- C
- ICT
- Product engineering
- Experience in an ISO9001 or EN9100 certified environment
- Lean Principles
Operation and maintenance of:
- ESS chambers
- Vibration Systems
- High Voltage circuits
Other:
This role requires a high degree of flexibility. This is a project driven business and spikes in demand require flexibility in work patterns in order to meet deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact with customers as well as individuals and teams at all levels on site.
- All customers and the majority of suppliers reside outside of Ireland. Some travel is a function of the role.
- A good understanding of written and spoken English is essential
- Experience in working with Microsoft Office required.
