Our client is one of Ireland's largest Residential Developers. They are delivering over 500 homes per year in the Cork area and are currently on the lookout for a Quantity Surveyor to join their site teams
Role: Quantity Surveyor
Location: Office based role 15 mins from Cork City
Salary & Package: €50-80k DOE, pension, bonus and other benefits
Our client is open to construction professionals or individuals who have been working in construction or engineering companies who have an interest in estimating or quantity surveying roles too. Training can be provided as long as you have a knowledge of certain softwares and a willingness to learn.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in the preparation of initial budgets and cost plans.
- Prepare an analysis and comparison of quotations received.
- Receive and manage subcontractor invoices and prepare for payment
- Maintain files on all projects to include the contract, all correspondence, changes, amendments, clarifications and payment schedules
- Complete sub-contractor documentation in accordance with company procedures and liaise with other departments on same.
- Monitor works packages against budgets, assessing variation claims and preparing progress reports.
- Participate in project meeting to ensure that all commercial and contract procedures are properly implemented.
- Provide forecast pricing information for annual budgets and business plans.
- Ensure prompt response and resolution of all queries received from senior management.
- Other ad hoc advising and reporting requirements that may arise.
REQUIREMENTS
- Quantity Surveying, Engineering or Construction related degree or background
- 2 years in an estimating or QS based role or 4 years in an engineering/construction company
- Excellent communication skills
- Good IT skills area crucial
