Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Own all health, quality, safety and environmental matters on site
- Implement, expand and revise the company Safety Management System
- Lead in-house training with managers and employees about health and safety issues and risks
- Develop and implement an effective internal Quality, Environmental Health and Safety audit and inspection programme that drives compliance and continuous improvement in relevant KPIs
- Manage the company Quality procedures and ensure implementation of the Quality System Manual
- Research chemical and material components for new machine lines, including waste management plans
- Manage material testing and specifications for new and innovative products, including being driven to achieve fire rating excellence
- Assist with the implementation of the company integrated management system for ISO 9001
- Ensure compliance with the standards required pursuant to the company CE Certification
- Lead the introduction of further ISO standards as required
- Keep up to date with new legislation and any developments that affect the company's industry
- Monthly reporting of EQH&S KPIs and statistics to senior management
- Develop and implement the company waste management plan
- Develop and implement the company sustainability plan
- Investigate incidents, accidents, near misses and unsafe working conditions - recommend remedial action in accordance with regulations
- Provide Environmental Health and Safety technical advice to management and workforce
- Liaise with and report to regulatory agencies
- Encourage development of talent through mentoring, coaching, engagement and empowerment of colleagues
- Contribute to a positive and growth-focused team culture and recognition standard
Qualifacations
- A relevant qualification in an Environmental, Quality and Health and Safety
- Professional certification such as the NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety, the IOSH Managing Safety Certificate, or the NISO Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health is desirable
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemical, Materials, Structural Engineering or related discipline desirable
- Thorough understanding of Irish Health and Safety legislation, including the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005
- 5+ years' experience in a similar role ideally in a manufacturing environment
