Main Responsibilities:
- Supplier Evaluation & Sourcing: Review existing suppliers in both the raw materials and packaging categories to ensure the company is receiving the best value for money while remaining competitive in the market.
- Raw Material & Packaging Procurement: Manage the procurement of raw materials and packaging supplies to ensure the company can effectively compete within its sector.
- Supplier Selection & Management: Identify and select suppliers for both raw materials and packaging that align with the company's purchasing strategy, ensuring contract compliance and service deliverables are met.
- Collaboration with Internal Teams: Collaborate with production and planning teams to develop accurate forecasts and budgets that align with lead times and inform order quantities for raw materials and packaging.
- Production Support: Attend production meetings to provide insight into material requirements, address any potential supply issues, and develop a forecast and plan for the next 6-12 months.
- Quality Assurance & Compliance: Work closely with the Quality Department to ensure all quality specifications for raw materials and packaging are clearly defined, while also anticipating any regulatory changes that could impact supply.
- Supplier Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers in both raw materials and packaging categories, ensuring continuous performance improvement and alignment with company objectives.
- Market Engagement: Attend global trade fairs to maintain supplier relationships and explore new suppliers for raw materials and packaging.
- Strategic Supply Chain Partnerships: Build and manage strategic partnerships with suppliers in raw materials and packaging to support the company's long-term goals.
- Financial Planning & Forecasting: Work with the finance team to ensure accurate procurement forecasts and cash flow projections, updating them annually as part of the budgeting process.
- Credit & Payment Terms Negotiation: Negotiate credit terms with suppliers of raw materials and packaging, ensuring terms align with the company's financial requirements.
- Stock Management Strategy: Suggest and implement short-term and long-term stock management strategies for both raw materials and packaging, in line with the company's three-year strategic plan.
Candidate Profile:
- Market Expertise in Raw Materials & Packaging: Extensive experience in sourcing and managing raw materials and packaging categories, with the ability to evaluate suppliers for competitiveness and quality.
- Negotiation & Sourcing Skills: Strong market research, negotiation, and strategic sourcing skills, ensuring the best value is achieved in both raw materials and packaging.
- Collaboration & Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills, capable of building relationships and collaborating effectively within teams.
- Proactive & Analytical: Self-motivated with strong planning abilities, and highly numerate to manage and assess procurement data effectively.
- Supplier Relationship Management: Proven experience in establishing and managing relationships with senior-level suppliers in both raw materials and packaging sectors.
- Supply Market Awareness: In-depth understanding of the raw materials and packaging supply markets, with the ability to detect supply shortages or price fluctuations and take quick action.
- Effective Communicator: Ability to communicate market dynamics and any potential impacts on raw material or packaging budgets and supply to senior management.
