The EHS Advisor is responsible for implementing, maintaining, and continuously improving environmental, health, and safety programs to ensure compliance with legal requirements and company standards. The role involves providing guidance, training, and support to foster a culture of safety and environmental stewardship across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Policy Development and Implementation:
Develop, implement, and update EHS policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure compliance with local, national, and industry regulations.
Ensure all EHS documentation is maintained and accessible.
Risk Management:
Conduct risk assessments and hazard identification across operations.
Develop and oversee corrective and preventive actions to mitigate risks.
Monitor workplace conditions and practices to ensure safety and environmental standards are upheld.
Regulatory Compliance:
Stay up-to-date with applicable EHS legislation and ensure the organization's adherence.
Liaise with regulatory bodies and ensure timely submission of required reports.
Coordinate and manage audits, inspections, and certifications.
Training and Awareness:
Deliver EHS training programs to employees and contractors, including induction training, refresher courses, and specialized safety training.
Promote awareness campaigns on workplace safety and environmental conservation.
Incident Management:
Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes.
Prepare detailed incident reports and recommend action plans.
Track the implementation of corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Continuous Improvement:
Collaborate with internal teams to identify opportunities for EHS improvements.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and report on EHS performance.
Participate in cross-functional teams to promote best practices.
Sustainability and Environmental Stewardship:
Develop and support initiatives to reduce waste, energy consumption, and carbon footprint.
Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
Certifacation or Degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health, Safety Management, or a related field.
In-depth knowledge of EHS legislation, standards, and best practices.
