Data Engineer

My client is looking for a Data Engineer with a minimum of 5 years experience to join their organisation based in Cork. This is a permanent role.

Responsibilities:

• Design and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines to process massive datasets
  
  
• Build and manage data lakes and data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift)
  
  
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and product teams to support data needs
  
  
• Optimize and troubleshoot complex SQL queries and data pipelines
  
  
• Implement data quality and governance frameworks
  
  
• Drive architectural decisions and help evolve the data engineering strategy

Skills & Experience:

• 5+ years of professional experience as a Data Engineer or similar role
  
  
• Proficiency with SQL and at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Scala)
  
  
• Deep experience with modern data stack tools (Airflow, dbt, Kafka, Spark, etc.)
  
  
• Strong knowledge of data warehousing concepts and performance tuning
  
  
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
  
  
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
