Location: Cork, Ireland (Flexible working arrangements)
We are seeking a skilled Data Scientist/Analyst to join our team for a 6-month contract based in Cork.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in backend data work, data engineering, and data analysis. The role primarily involves analyzing real-time data streams, utilizing Tableau for frontend visualization, and handling ad-hoc customer requests.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze incoming data streams to derive insights and trends, contributing to informed decision-making processes.
- Utilize Tableau to create intuitive and insightful visualizations for stakeholders, enabling easy interpretation of complex data sets.
- Handle spontaneous data requests from customers, providing timely and accurate responses to their queries.
- Understanding of Data Sets: Develop a deep understanding of the underlying data sets, including their structure, sources, and relationships, to ensure effective analysis and interpretation.
- Work closely with the Product Owner to align data analysis with business objectives, leveraging their extensive domain knowledge for insightful interpretations.
- Collaborate with the Cloud Ops Engineer to understand infrastructure nuances and optimize data processing pipelines for efficiency and scalability.
- Coordinate with the QA team to validate data accuracy and integrity, ensuring the reliability of analysis outcomes.
- Work with the deployment team or Cloud Ops Engineer to deploy data solutions seamlessly, adhering to best practices and ensuring smooth integration into existing systems.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Proven experience in data analysis, preferably in a backend data-focused role.
- Proficiency in data visualization tools, particularly Tableau.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to derive actionable insights from complex data sets.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and deployment processes is advantageous.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility and adaptability to accommodate changing project requirements and timelines.
