As the Retail Buyer, you will be at the forefront of the product strategy, ensuring that you source and deliver the best products to their customers while maintaining strong supplier relationships and maximizing margins. This role is a critical driver of the retail success, and they are looking for someone who is commercially savvy, a master negotiator, and a strategic thinker. What You'll Do:
- Scout and secure new suppliers, negotiate contracts, and maintain a comprehensive product file ensuring to stay ahead of market trends and competition.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers. You'll categorize, rationalize, and assess the competitive landscape, ensuring smooth and beneficial partnerships.
- Keep a finger on the pulse of market trends, conduct price comparisons, and set competitive pricing strategies that enhance our market position.
- Collaborate closely with the General Manager of Retail and Head of Buying, ensuring timely and accurate reporting. Your insights will drive strategic decisions and business growth.
- Work hand-in-hand with Finance, Marketing, and suppliers to boost margins through creative deals, long-term agreements, and promotional support.
- Oversee the entire order-to-sale process, ensuring all policies, procedures, and controls are adhered to. You'll also manage stock levels, minimize risks, and respond to changes in demand.
- Contribute to the budgeting and planning processes for your assigned categories, ensuring that stock levels align with demand forecasts and sales targets.
