ROLE DESCRIPTION
The Automation Engineer will be responsible for the efficient implementation of automation solution for Isolator projects to client requirements. The automation Engineer will be responsible for full end to end delivery of the automation component of projects including all documents and code in compliance to GAMP5 processes. This role will work with the team in developing standardised software modules and documentation.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Liaise with interested parties such as Clients/Sales production, technical etc. to define the requirements of a project.
- Specify, design, install, test and commission new equipment as required
- Write and modify PLC and SCADA software for new projects and support existing software on clients' sites.
- Create and design the required design document such as Instrument Schedule (IS), FDS, SDS, HDS, and input into other
- Support existing equipment with after-sales support
- Travel required for commissioning
- Typical tasks will include the management of specifications, design, purchasing of equipment, interpreting electrical schematics, overseeing the Build of projects within budget, allocated time, and corporate guidelines, commissioning, and handover.
- Work with sales team to help deliver competitive solutions to the industry as directed by the Manager
- Responsible to help maintain a safe, healthy, ethically and environmentally responsible workplace and business
- Responsible for Automation Variation Change Requests (VCR) with clients where scope deviates from "as sold" specification.
- Management of procurement of long lead time items for projects with the procurement team to meet project timelines.
- Management of Factory and Site Acceptance Testing protocols and execution (FAT / SAT)
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- 2-3 years of previous Automation Engineering experience
- Competent working with technical and electrical drawings and specifications, and have previously demonstrated the ability to build strong working relationships both within their team and working across multi-disciplinary teams
- Strong project management skills are a distinct advantage for this position with proven problem-solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and time management skills with a proven ability to work directly with Customers and/or to manage self and assigned resources to meet schedule and budget requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills through English
- Multitask ability to work with several projects at a time
- Experience of Good Documentation Practices (GDP) as used within the Life Sciences industry
EDUCATION/TRAINING REQUIRED:
- Level 8 Degree in Controls and Automation, or equivalent with relevant experience
- Allen Bradley/Siemens PLC programming and HMI systems
- SCADA Operation and Maintenance
- WinCC Runtime for Comfort Panels
- WinCC Runtime Advance
- WinCC Runtime Professional
- Factory Talk View SE
- Factory Talk View ME
- Knowledge of Atex Guidelines an advantage
- Knowledge of communications protocols and networking a distinct advantage such as Profinet, Ethernet IP, ModBus, Profibus
