Morgan McKinley are partnering with a leading US multinational manufacturing organisation in Shannon to recruit a Financial Accountant to join their established finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious accountant with 1-2 years of industry experience who is looking to take the next step in their career within a highly regarded global organisation. You'll gain broad exposure across financial accounting, month-end reporting, financial controls and commercial finance, while working alongside an experienced and supportive finance team.
The Role
Reporting into the wider finance function, you will be responsible for a broad range of financial accounting activities, including:
- Supporting monthly, quarterly and year-end close processes
- Preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations
- Posting journals, accruals, prepayments and other accounting entries
- Supporting monthly management accounts and financial reporting
- Assisting with variance analysis and investigation of financial results
- Supporting budgeting and forecasting activities
- Assisting with audit and statutory reporting requirements
- Maintaining strong financial controls and compliance
- Supporting general ledger activities and wider accounting processes
- Working closely with operational and commercial teams across the business
- Supporting inventory and cost accounting activities
- Identifying opportunities to improve processes and reporting
- Contributing to wider finance projects and initiatives
About You
We are looking for an ambitious accountant with a strong grounding in financial accounting who is keen to develop their career within industry. Ideally, you will have:
- Accounting qualification
- 1-2 years of industry experience
- Strong understanding of financial accounting principles
- Experience with month-end processes and reconciliations
- Good Excel skills and ideally experience with an ERP system
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A proactive approach and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
