A global enterprise technology leader is seeking a Data Center Technician to support mission-critical cloud infrastructure operations in Chiba. In this role, you will deliver hands-on technical support, hardware installations, and break-fix services within a large-scale data center environment. You will play a key role in ensuring the stability, availability, and performance of cloud services that support businesses worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, replace, and troubleshoot server hardware, network components, rack deployments, and structured cabling
- Prioritize ticket queues and manage escalations to meet strict Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
- Perform board-level repairs and fault diagnosis in a mission-critical environment
- Support site planning activities, including rack layout, commissioning, and whitespace preparation
- Participate in a 24/7 regional standby rotation and provide on-call emergency support
- Follow change management procedures and complete accurate reporting using internal tools
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- Hands-on experience with hardware troubleshooting and break-fix (servers and networking equipment)
- Experience installing and managing structured cabling and cable routing
- Experience with system board-level repair and fault diagnosis
- Proficiency using ticket-based workflow systems
- Knowledge of infrastructure commissioning and data center site planning
- Valid driver's license with ability to reach the site within 60 minutes
Soft Skills:
- Strong collaboration skills across technical and non-technical teams
- Excellent time management and ability to prioritize urgent tasks
- Calm and effective problem-solving under pressure
- Clear communication skills for incident reporting and documentation
- Ability to work smoothly in a multi-disciplinary team environment
Language Requirements:
- Japanese: Intermediate to Business level
- English: Intermediate to Business level
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Knowledge of data center compliance and security standards
- Familiarity with change management tools and processes
