Maintenance Lead

A leading manufacturing business in Co. Cavan is looking to appoint a Maintenance Lead to provide day-to-day leadership and coordination across its site maintenance function.
This is a hands-on leadership role with responsibility for ensuring maintenance activities are properly planned, prioritised and delivered, while working closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, Stores and external contractors.
The position would suit an experienced Maintenance Supervisor, Maintenance Lead, Maintenance Planner, Senior Maintenance Engineer or Engineering Supervisor who is looking to take broader ownership of maintenance planning, reliability and team coordination.
The Role
You will coordinate planned and reactive maintenance activity across the site, ensuring work is appropriately prioritised, resourced and completed safely and efficiently.
Key areas of responsibility will include:

Planning and scheduling preventative, corrective and reactive maintenance activities.

Coordinating maintenance requirements with Production to minimise disruption and maximise equipment availability.

Providing day-to-day direction to maintenance technicians and contractors.

Organising labour, materials and external resources to ensure maintenance work is completed effectively.

Supporting the planning and execution of shutdowns and major maintenance activities.

Monitoring maintenance performance and identifying opportunities to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.

Supporting root cause analysis and corrective actions for recurring equipment issues.

Managing maintenance work orders, equipment histories and preventative maintenance schedules through the site's CMMS.

Ensuring maintenance records and documentation are maintained accurately.

Monitoring key maintenance indicators such as PM compliance, schedule compliance, downtime, MTBF and MTTR.

Coordinating contractors and ensuring work is completed in line with site safety, quality and technical requirements.

Supporting maintenance purchasing, spares and cost control.

Working closely with Engineering and other site functions to improve maintenance processes and asset performance.

Promoting strong safety standards and ensuring maintenance work is carried out in accordance with relevant procedures and risk controls.
What are we looking for?
You will ideally have:

A third-level qualification in Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical, Automation, Maintenance or a related discipline.
Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial maintenance environment.
- Experience coordinating maintenance activities, resources and priorities.
- Strong knowledge of maintenance planning and scheduling.
- Experience working with a CMMS or similar maintenance management system.
- Experience leading, supervising or coordinating maintenance technicians and/or contractors.
- A structured approach to problem solving, with an understanding of root cause analysis and equipment reliability.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with Production, Engineering, Quality, Stores and external suppliers.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage competing maintenance priorities.
Experience within food, FMCG, pharmaceutical, dairy or another process manufacturing environment would be advantageous.
