Position Overview
The candidate's duties encompass the development and execution of enhanced strategic sourcing policies. This entails generating cost estimates and projections while also engaging in the negotiation of cost-efficient contracts with crucial suppliers. Proficiency in negotiation tactics and a substantial background in a comparable position are expected qualifications.
Role & Responsibilities
Strategic Sourcing
- Provide support for the development, implementation, and execution of Strategic Sourcing strategies that are in alignment with the organization's business needs. Drive purchasing decisions by conducting cost and scenario analyses and staying attuned to market trends.
- Assist in optimizing procurement and vendor management activities as part of the sourcing efforts to achieve efficiency. Collaborate with stakeholders to formulate IT sourcing strategies aimed at maximizing value for the organization. Perform cost analyses, set benchmarks for improvement, and identify opportunities for strategic cost savings.
- Take charge of managing strategic supplier relationships and negotiating critical/high-value contracts. This includes evaluating supply alternatives, devising negotiation strategies, and conducting essential supplier business reviews. Execute sourcing action plans and contribute to the enhancement of sourcing procedures to ensure optimal efficiency and outcomes.
- Maintain a close working relationship with the internal Legal department to ensure that contracts and terms are favorable to the organization. Lead RFx and supplier selection through the facilitation of competitive sourcing activities, encompassing supplier sourcing, bid analysis and evaluation, and making recommendations for business awards.
- Nurture ongoing business relationships with current suppliers while actively seeking new supplier prospects. Maintain a strong partnership with the internal Legal department to guarantee favorable contract terms for the organization.
Vendor Management
- Facilitate the implementation of new vendor onboarding, renewal, and offboarding procedures while ensuring the diligent execution of risk management processes in adherence to governance standards.
- Effectively coordinate and oversee the consistent performance of compliance activities, guaranteeing their proper execution. Conduct routine risk assessments for all vendors to assess the ongoing suitability of their business engagements.
- Sustain a comprehensive vendor profile database, overseeing review timelines, and ensuring that all pertinent information is kept current and accurate.
- Offer advice and guidance to business partners and teams as needed, promoting best practices in Vendor Management.

- Requirements for this role include holding a degree or an equivalent qualification from a recognized tertiary institution. Additionally, you should showcase your ability to negotiate and influence both internal and external stakeholders effectively, resulting in positive outcomes.
- You must exhibit strong analytical capabilities, particularly in the realms of bid analysis, cost analysis, fair-value analysis, and scenario modeling. A thorough grasp of third-party risk management and corporate compliance is also vital.
- Your communication skills, both written and verbal, should be excellent. You should be capable of interacting with various levels of management, demonstrating a high degree of integrity, dependability, and a strong sense of urgency in your work.
- Any relevant experience in the healthcare industry would be considered an advantageous asset.
