Morgan McKinley, Northern Home Counties are pleased to be supporting a growing and hugely successful Distribution business based in Stevenage. The role of Purchase Ledger Clerk, supports the US business and works with the US management team, as well as being part of the wider Purchase Ledger (PL) team, reporting into a great and inspiring PL Manager.

The role

The role of US Purchase Ledger Clerk takes full responsibility for all aspects of accounts payable for the USA subsidiary suppliers. This role requires someone that can confidently communicate with suppliers on a day-to-day basis, works well as part of the accounts payable team and can liaise with other departments within the business when necessary to resolve queries.

The role requires a good eye for detail, the ability to work well under pressure and prioritise their workload.

Main Duties

  • Daily responsibility for the US Accounts Payable inbox; invoices/credit notes/statements and responding to supplier queries
  • Processing supplier stock invoices in various currencies against goods received
  • Processing supplier expense invoices in various currencies and obtaining the necessary approval
  • Processing pro-forma invoices for payment
  • Reconciliation of supplier statements
  • Creating bi-weekly payment runs and prioritising the suppliers to be paid with the help of Finance Resources in the US office and buyers in Asia
  • Updating supplier address and banking information
  • Liaising with suppliers and employees in the US / Asia to resolve queries by telephone and email Liaising with other departments within the business to resolve queries
  • Monthly review of aged creditors report to identify proforma payments that require a tax invoice to be obtained, identify balances to be written off, debit balances to be refunded, contras to be processed with Account Receivable ledgers
  • Any other duties as requested by the Accounts Payable Manager

Personal Specifications

This position will ideally suit someone who has 2-3 years' experience within an Accounts Payable role, working in multiple currencies and looking for more responsibility.

Salary

Flexible depending on experience but between £25,000 - £27,000 plus benefits
