Job Description

An an exciting opportunity has just opened up with one of my key clients based in north Dublin as their new Senior Logistics Coordinator across their air, sea & road freight divisions.

My client a world leading logistics company are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Transport Coordinator to lead a team of 6 professionals across their air, sea, and road freight departments. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the efficient and effective transportation of goods, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining high standards of service.

As a key member of the logistics team, the Senior Transport Coordinator will play a crucial role in optimizing processes, fostering team collaboration, and enhancing overall operational performance and customer service while reporting to the Operations Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of 6 professionals within the air, sea, and road freight departments.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of air, sea, and road freight transportation activities.
  • Implement and optimize standard operating procedures to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Maintain a customer-centric approach, ensuring timely and accurate communication with clients.
  • Address customer concerns and inquiries promptly, seeking continuous improvement in service delivery.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, carriers, and other stakeholders to streamline processes and resolve issues.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators to identify areas for improvement.
  • Assist in the development and management of the transportation budget.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement measures to control expenses.

Key Requirements:

  • In-depth knowledge of air, sea, and road freight operations.
  • Familiarity with relevant regulations and compliance standards.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in using transportation management systems and other relevant software.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is a distinct advantage.
