We have an exciting opportunity with our Public Sector client who deals with all things sustainability. This position will play a key role in the Research and Technology Department.
The team are an enthusiastic and innovative team, with wide ranging stakeholders across the system, who are committed to the high-quality delivery in offshore energy areas. The successful candidate will report directly to the Programme Manager.
Responsibilities
- Support in the delivery of relevant actions under key Government plans.
- Support programme and grant administration and any other duties as required from time to time by the designated Programme Manager.
- Assist with strategic planning for future Programme requirements, contribute to accelerating and enhancing support for the research, development, testing and deployment of offshore renewable energy technologies. Adapt to changes effectively including providing input and evidence-based analysis for policy development.
- Develop and maintain strong business relationships and work collaboratively with a range of internal and external stakeholders to develop and promote new and existing strategies to advance the creation of an indigenous offshore renewables energy industry.
- Synthesise and engage with RD&D, identify gaps and opportunities for research into enabling the deployment of offshore renewable energy technologies.
- Collaborate with international bodies and other facilities in relation to research and development and other work packages.
- Represent the organisation at national and international events to promote the offshore renewable energy programme and the Irish ocean energy sector.
- To undertake any other duties /projects as may be assigned.
Requirements:
- A relevant third level qualification i.e. Degree and/or equivalent qualification in Engineering / Science / Economics / Business or equivalent.
- At least three years' work experience in a related field.
- Successful track record and expertise in project management of multi-disciplinary projects.
- Excellent organisation skills together with the ability to prioritise work and manage a wide variety of tasks with a proven track record in meeting deadlines.
- Ability to exercise initiative and to be able to operate independently.
- Excellent team-player skills and flexibility.
Desirable Requirements
- Experience in working in energy system / services.
- Experience working directly with ocean energy and/or offshore wind developers an advantage.
- Experience with procurement for offshore renewable energy activities.
- Experience in working in international research projects.
- Experience in the development of technology support programmes.
- Well-developed negotiation and influencing skills.
