Job Description

The primary function of this role is to lead the development of Manufacturing Systems & integration across this company.

The contribution will span component and technology design input, development of bespoke manufacturing & integration equipment, engagement with the third party advanced manufacturing institutions and equipment makers, development of prototype advanced manufacturing cells in the Technology Centre and planning commercial-scale manufacturing facilities and operations for these new products.

The successful candidate will drive manufacturing engineering excellence across cross functional engineering teams, develop junior staff, contribute to commercial strategy formation, and represent the company with academic partners and industrial leaders on their advanced technology & manufacturing developments.

They are seeking a well-organised, enthusiastic, innovative, and accomplished technologist with astute commercial acumen and excellent communication skills to thrive in this role and will recognise and reward your contribution accordingly.

Key responsibilities:

* Develop world-class manufacturing & integration processes - optimising cost and performance.

* Inform technology development and design around material selection, R&D and Product Development of the new Systems from a manufacturability/assembly perspective.

* Develop and optimise production costs & forecasts.

* IP development in the area of advanced manufacturing techniques.

* Network and collaborate with SMEs in the manufacturing of bespoke systems and adjacent technologies.

* Develop logistics, production process design and supply chain development proposals.

* Develop manufacturing equipment prototypes & prototype manufacturing cells for new products.

* Develop and manage manufacturing requirements and implement product quality assurance. * Manage suppliers, internal customers, contractors, academics and clients.

* Develop deployment, installation and lifetime Operation, Maintenance and Repair proposals.

* Input to all project areas, including but not limited to, commercial, HSEQ, finance and stakeholder engagement as well as engineering.

Experience and Skills required:

* Bachelor's/Master's degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering, or equiv. (NFQ 8).

* Manufacturing Engineering experience of at least 10 years.

* Proven experience in developing advanced manufacturing equipment, systems and facilities.

* Extensive experience in various continuous, advanced manufacturing technologies for polymer composites, such as extrusion, injection moulding, ATL, etc. for mass production.

* Experience in materials' science and its application to design & product manufacturing.

* Desirable experience in cables, pipelines, or electrical products R&D and/or manufacturing.

* Experience developing risk assessments and technical risk mitigation & QA programs.

* Desirable experience working on projects in offshore Renewables, offshore deployments and operations for pipe systems
